Martha had been living in her car, couch surfing, and boarding. She has been doing this while also caring full time for her grandson, who has to be removed from his unsafe family environment. Martha is part of the fastest-growing group facing homelessness. women over 55. When a community housing property became available, she couldn’t afford the upfront cost. This is where we were able to support; we were able to pay for the bond and a couple of months of rent. They are now in a safe and secure home, giving them the fresh start they deserve.
We Are Mobilise exists to unite Australia in solving homelessness. We do this by providing opportunities and support to people facing homelessness, wherever they are across the country.
Mobilise Kickstarter is our direct giving program that helps get people into housing, or keeps a safe roof above their head, by providing support for bond, rent and rental arrears. By stepping in early, Kickstarter helps break the cycle of homelessness, giving people the stability and security they need to take the next step in their journey.
We Are Mobilise delivers our programs exclusively through a network of over 50 incredible charity partners across Australia.
By combining our direct giving programs with their specialist services, we amplify the impact of every dollar and help more people move into safe housing faster.
Since launching our direct giving programs, we’ve supported over 250 years of housing for people who need it most. We believe that everyone has a role to play in making a difference and that together, we can see an end to homelessness in Australia.
